Vermont Bass fishing in Lakes and ponds is getting tough as the water temps drop but the Landlocked Salmon and Lake Trout bite is starting to get hot!

Vermont Lake Fishing is AWESOME

The lake fishing is AWESOME right now. Small marabou jigs, tiny tubes, champlain nymphs, crankbaits, jerkbaits, white bh streamers and clousers are all killing them.

Southern Vermont Lake Fishing

This time of the year I am back and forth between river fishing and lake fishing. This week I had an A-List Regular client on the lake for his second lake trip with me. Southern Vermont Lake Fishing

I had a father / daughter trip this last weekend....the daughter earned her Vermont State Master Angler pin on this one trip.....The master angler program is put on by the Vermont Fish and Game Department.There is an adult and youth category. Each of 33 species has a size requirement and when you catch 5 different qualifying fish you will receive a master angler pin. The lake fishing is EXCELLENT right now!

VERMONT LAKE TRIPS

It is that time again when I bounce back and forth between Trout fishing rivers and streams...and....Lake fishing for Bass, Pike and Panfish....water temperatuires are perfect, most species are done spawning so its time to start....will be putting the day in very soon....been getting Champlain Nymphes ready...thanks for the view and please note the my email change....

2012 Vermont Soft (open) Water Fishing has started

Last week, March 21 to 23 we had a heat wave here in Vermont....mid 70's....and with that a ton of warm water species moved to the bank on Lake Bomoseen. Trout season does not open till April 14th (the second Saturday)....BUT it is legal in Vermont to fish year around for panfish and pike....Sunny and 70 with the ice being out for a week....those flies I'm tying are going to wait!
Tina (my girl friend) and I fished with little 5 foot 4 lb rods, pencil bobbers and champlain nymphs and HAMMERED them....we had an AWESOME time....got a sun burn on the legs and arms and caught fish almost every cast....
