Fall Fishing

The Lake fishing is NOT an early morning affair anymore....morning fog is the norm because of the diffrence between air and water temps....most trips are now meeting at 8 or 9am....panfish are moving to deeper water...we hammered really big bull "gills" yesterday in a 12 foot break near Black Rock on Bomoseen...the Bass are moving to the bank on rock structure....plenty of time left...Duck season starts on Oct 12....watch out for decoy spreads....we can all play on the same playground....please stay tuned...I charted on GPS yesterday a course to Black Rock for Ice fishing...scarcy isn't it....

The Vermont Fishing is FINE!

This is a NEW BOAT RECORD on the little rods (4.5 foot 4lb test rods)...Miss Cohen caught this 30" 10 lb Channel Catfish on a Chartreuse Champlain Nymph. It beats the old record 8lb Drum which also was a BIG FISH for the tiny rods....

The main rivers are just a touch high but the lake fishing through all of the IRENE event was awesomwe.... the roads east and west are getting better every day....for the best road information copy and paste this into your browser

There is no reason not to come and fish in Manchester Vermont....the Trout are fine and Bass are still chewing.... the weather is settled, hell we don't even need to get up early anymore....

Vermont Lake Fishing

The lake fishing continues to be excellent in the morning until about lunchtime. I am starting to see schools of jumbo white perch forming in the Benson area....this means one thing other than fun on 4 lb rods....it means there are Brown Bass cruising underneath them...the other day we caught: Large and smallmouths, pickeral, bull gills, white and yellow perch, pumpkinseed, drum, and a crappie all on a champlain nymph....Lets go fishing!

Vermont Bass Fishing

The bass fishing continues to be EXCELLENT....with stellar panfish fishing in the lunchtime hours. A huge school of jumbo white perch has moved into Pulpits, brown bass will follow them....weed edges are still undefined because of high water....about 30 days from all day action, I hope the really warm weather is over but it is all smiles in my boat these days....LIFE IS GOOD, Fish hard!!!

Vermont Bass Fishing

Vermont Bass Fishing is in high gear....The fishing has been very good...hot baits: green Pumpkin soft plastics, Champlain Nymphs, Arkie meat, poppers, crankbaits, walking dogs, jerk baits and Clouser minnow....In the boat I usually feature spin fishing but if we are hammering them switching to the flyrod is possible. This time of the year it is a morning deal. I normally meet folks at Tom's Bait Shop on Rte 4A in Castleton corners....
